Freaky!

Eeeek, where has the time gone? Also, why do I keep starting blog posts by wondering about where the time is gone and apologizing for not blogging more? You'd think by now I'd accept the fact that I am just kind of crap at updating regularly!

In fact today's post is a rip off. Yes it's true. I am ripping off the idea from my best gal friend, Petal. Now she won't mind at all because she's a kind, sweet and loving person that I feel honored to know. In addition she will be too buttered up with these compliments to feel that she can say anything. So, it's a win win situation.

Anyway, my ripped off blog theme is all about this weird connection that I have with Petal. It's a regular thing with us but it manifested itself in a very tangible and slightly spooky way last week.

There was a day last week when I decided I would make a doll for Petal. I do not know why I was doing this, there wasn't any gift giving occasion or anything, I just felt the urge to make it. I also had the urge to make it completely different from anything else that I usually make. I guess that it started with the time I made a doll of Carabosse for the Peanut and Petal admired her.

Building on that sort of concept I came up with a doll that was long, lovely, whimsical and sweet, much like the recipient herself (see, more compliments!). Now, nothing particularly weird about that except maybe the fact that I was whipping up a doll to give to a grown woman friend but we won't get into that!

No, the weird bit was the fact that at the exact same time, Petal was also making a doll. Well, perhaps that isn't weird in and of itself. The really weird bit is that not only was she making a doll at the same time but the doll she was making (she's also never made anything like it) was the same shade, size, and shape as the one I was making.

She kindly sent me photos of them together as they both live at her house now.

Freaky!

You can visit my talented girl at her Etsy shop! It's all gorgeous stuff and I swear it's all better than her doll, mine is the one on the left. Sorry babe, the compliments just ended here!
Also, check out her blog.
