Stitchn Kitten

I am going to write a book. Seriously, it's going to be a manual on how to breed your own little designer. No really, I think I've got it down pat at this point. The peanut has started a pin cushion empire and has branded it as well. "Mummy, I am going to make my own money and then you won't be able to tell me what I can buy!" Very well then, you go for it little girl!

So, once we have designed our product it's time to market! After much discussion with the creative department on the brief of "a name with sewing and 'kitten' or 'cat' in it!" and rejecting of a truckload of names for the pincushion/sewing empire it has been decided that Peanut's business is called Stitchn Kitten!
She's done a logo as well which I turned into stickers for her packaging.

I suspect that I am shooting myself in the foot here as she's now planning on having her stuff at my next three craft stalls!

Yup, a miniature designer is living in my house. Not only has she been sewing up a load of her pin cushions, she also has made a new skirt for her kitty, Kitty (it seems she was using her vast creativity in other ways when she came up with that name). She did start by drawing out the design for the skirt which involved a lot of pleating. I gently suggested that maybe pleats were a bit much on her first foray into making a garment and that maybe a gathered skirt would be the way to go. She was happy to go along with the "bunched up skirt" thankfully. Though I did get a look of disdain when I suggested that perhaps pin cushions would be more user friendly if they had less buttons decorating them. Who ever said designers were easy to work with anyway?

Kitty now has a new skirt in a trendy Cath Kidston fabic and adorned with a sparkly button and butterfly trim.

I would have taken a picture of Kitty actually wearing the skirt but the Peanut is sleeping with her and I wouldn't want to risk disturbing her. You know how temperamental these designers can be.

Oh bless her, so creative! I'd love to see Kitty wearing the skirt sometime :)
Emily has just started sewing at home too, but not on a par with your peanut at all! She's just edging some binka (I'm told that is what its called when I bought it on the market) with embroidery thread, so just running stitch really. Louisa watching me doing my cross stitch (xmas decs) and said "well done". Bless. She's only 2...
